Emmauel Nabuora is the CEO of Kenya-based ParteUp, an online application that gives users the opportunity to discover, create, find and share parties within their locality while allowing them to host and stream their parties to live attendees.

ParteUp is a web and mobile based application that allows users to discover, create, find and share parties within their locality. They are also able to host and stream their parties live to attendees.

Who are the founders and what are their professional backgrounds?

The founders are Emmanuel Nabuora who is CEO, Nelson Kigen-CTO and Ed Magema, the COO.

I worked as the County CEO for Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI) Trans Nzoia County, and i was responsible for setting up strategies that improved the Chamber's presence in the Country. Ed Magema is a strategic thinker who introduced and set up Chipper Cash in the East African Community. He holds a Math Degree from Harvard. Nelson Kigen, Phd. from The University of Florida is has worked for several multi Nationals in the United States.

Who are the owners of the company?

I own 80% of the company while the rest 20% is vested on company employees and Co-founders.

What are – in your opinion – the dynamics of the events and marketing industry?

The event management industry has evolved with rapid advancements in technologies, such as social media, mobile, web, cloud, and analytics. Businesses have therefore started paying attention to the services in the event management industry.

Why did you start ParteUp? what opportunities did you see?

I started this company because events management market was valued at USD 8.144 billion in

2019 and is expected to reach $14.94 billion by 2025-CAGR

What problem or problems does ParteUp solve?

There is no dedicated platform that users can use to find parties in their locality while giving them an option of hosting and streaming live.

What can ParteUp do that no other company can?

Price is an important concern for users. On our platform they are able to know the prices before hand, and they are able to chose which parties suit their interest by watching them live.

Who are your customers?

we are targeting college students, party planners, hotels and restaurants, and frequent travelers who want to discover and explore new cities.

What does ParteUp need in order to grow?

We need to invest more on building the brand through marketing and invest more on R&D.

What is your growth strategy?

We intend to utilize all available social media at our disposal as well as partnering with key brands in the market.

In which markets are you looking to establish your presence?

We are already incorporated in the United States, and we hope to start our operations there very soon.

What are your plans for the coming 12 months?

We want to expand our liquor delivery service across the whole country, right now we are only in Nairobi and we are doing very well.
