Giga Technology is a South African telecommunications startup involved in the manufacture and export of a host of communication technologies across Africa and Europe. The startup founder Anton Janovsky elaborates.

Briefly introduce your company

We are an electronic manufacturer, Importer of Industrial and domestic communication products. Some of the products in our portfolio include:

HF, VHF, UHF, SDR and DMR transceivers, Electronic Manufacturing tools, antenna and Antenna Analyzers, USB Communication Interface modules, Modelator and Demodulator DSP Interface, amateur Radio Equipment, VSAT Terminal units and antennas among others.

Who are the founders and what are their professional background?

The startup was founded by Anton Janovsky who still works at Standard Bank.

How is your company financed?


What are, in your opinion, the dynamics of the industry you work in?

Telecommunications offers lots of opportunities for businesses and the corona virus pandemic has even made companies more dependable on telecommunications.

Why did you start Giga Technology? What opportunities did you see?

I felt there is a gap in the market where we can offer local and international communication products especially for the Africa market.

What problem or problems does Giga Technology solve?

We are constrained with logistically storages and manufacturing capabilities.

What can your company do that no other company can?

We service and manufacture cost effective communication products.

Who are your customers?

Most of our customers are in South Africa but we do export to neighbouring countries and Europe.

What does Giga Technology need in order to grow?

Better remarketing and logistics in terms of manufacturing space.

What is your growth strategy?

We had steady growth of about 15 per cent year on year. We believe if we continue to expand our product range we should be able maintain the growth.

What are the expansion ambitions of your company?

We would like to expand in South Africa, Botswana and Namibia

What are your plans for the coming 12 months?

If we can continually to extend our manufacturing and products we should be able to maintain our growth.
