Digital recruitment agency Zenjob has successfully completed its Series C financing round of €27 million which it is betting on to grow footprint.

The startup provides student assistants to large and medium-sized companies from the logistics, retail and office sectors via app.

New customers are digitally introduced to all processes and can then order staff via an online booking portal. This enables companies to find temporary workers quickly and flexibly in order to react to short-term personnel needs or seasonal fluctuations.

The job-candidate matching enables students to find a job near them on the same day. Zenjob reaches 15,000 students a day via the app.

The lead investor was Forestay Capital with other investors being Redalpine, Acton Capital, Axa Venture Partners and Atlantic Labs.

The new financing primarily serves to expand into other cities. Zenjob plans to offer its personnel service throughout Germany by the end of the year. The Berlin-based company is currently represented in 14 cities. The technology is also to be further developed as part of the financing. Zenjob enables its customers to achieve high efficiency gains and takes over the entire process for temporary staffing, from personnel search to billing. Algorithms are also intended to help predict staff demand even better.

Fritz Trott, Co-Founder and CEO, Zenjobs: “We continue to invest in our technology and expansion. Companies will soon be able to book hourly staff across Germany within 24 hours and use them much more efficiently than before. The same applies to students on the employee side, we enable real flexibility in the student job. Instead of paperwork and tedious interviews, the app goes directly to the right job. Contactless - that's what Corona calls for, especially in logistics and retail. Our technology means we can hire hundreds of new students every day and fill vacancies. ”

Frederic Wohlwend, Managing Partner, Forestay Capital: “ We are delighted to have invested in Zenjob and to be able to work with Fritz and his highly talented team. Zenjob is a company that is redefining the temporary employment market with groundbreaking technology and showed even before the corona crisis that it has an exciting future ahead of it. Even now, during the pandemic, the digital personnel service keeps the world of work moving. ”

Harald Nieder, Partner, Redalpine: “It's great to see how much Zenjob has developed from the start. We are convinced of his unique digital approach in the area of personnel services. With a strong product focus, the Zenjob team has built a platform that enables reliable workers to be booked quickly and easily at the push of a button. The current round of financing is another milestone with which Zenjob can further strengthen its market position in Germany and expand internationally.”
